Six winters of NWS-against-SNOTEL checking found forecast accuracy here turns on an unresolved snow-measurement question (settled snow depth vs. fresh snowfall), not a fixed per-mountain bias anyone can honestly correct. Arrive very early (8:30 AM or earlier) on powder days to catch first/second chair and tram access before lines form. Visibility frequently poor in upper 1/4 of mountain during storms (whiteout conditions), but lower terrain and Grizzly area provide good turning despite poor sight. No Name terrain often opens untouched mid-morning after patrol control work. Expect dense, heavy snow that requires significant effort on lower mountain terrain by day's end. Storm days see lighter crowds than expected despite being Ikon resort.
