Storm Day Strategy

Arrive early (5:30 AM) to secure parking; expect 15-45 minute lift waits but lines manageable compared to other resorts; fresh snow all day typical; best powder access mid-morning before crowds; untouched boot-deep conditions available until 1 PM on weekdays; consider weekday powder days over weekends; avoid main tram on peak days (1+ hour waits); most lifts 5-15 minutes; park at underutilized Wildcat lot if main areas full; be prepared for 90+ minute canyon drive delays on busy weekends

Terrain Opening Patterns

Upper Mountain/Tram Terrain

Opens: Variable - weather/avalanche dependent

Daltons slide to creek is rare but causes full closures. Avalanche control via Valley Gun tests mid-canyon paths. Little Cloud terrain remains closed (as of 2023-24 season).

Backcountry Gates

Opens: Rarely open most season; primarily spring

When opened, gates remain cautiously closed after storms. Gates without closure signs fair game to duck; marked closure signs must be respected.

Upper Mountain/Tram Accessible Terrain

Above Collins/Kitty base

Limited terrain (Travesty that Little Cloud isn't running). High attrition rate in brutal conditions. Need more terrain.
