OpenSnow editorial for Telluride

The good news is that the longer-range forecast shows a high probability for two storms during the first five days of April. The not-so-good news is that before this snow arrives, we'll have another 6-7 days of very warm weather, which will further diminish our snowpack.

With no new snow and warm sunshine, skiing will be mostly on firm-to-softening groomers with increasingly slushy surfaces by afternoon.

Another dry, mostly sunny and warm day will keep conditions focused on smooth morning groomers transitioning to soft, slushy snow by afternoon.

Dry weather and mild temps will continue the firm-early, soft-late groomer pattern with increasingly springlike, slushy snow in the afternoon.

Clouds will increase but it will stay dry and relatively mild, so skiing will remain groomer-focused with softening, somewhat sticky snow by afternoon.
